800 Series Neutral Flux
Is recommended for welding with solid low alloy steel electrodes. These electrodes must contain a minimum of 0.20% silicon for proper deoxidation and bead appearance 880 flux is also used with Lincoln's LAC series of low alloy flux-cored electrodes, with Lincore« 30-S, 35-S, 40-S and 50 flux-cored hardfacing electrodes. 880 flux should not be used for single arc AC welding or as a general purpose flux for applications such as fillet welding of carbon steel
Advantage Lincoln • Excellent mechanical and low impact properties can be obtained.
• The unique slag system is very easily removed.
• Welds with 880 flux resist transverse cracking on mutiple pass welds, because of thorough fluxing of exclusions and also low sulphur and phosporous content in the deposit.
Typical Application • Pipe double ending. • General purpose structural and multiple pass welds. • Recommended for AASHTO Fracture Critical applications with Lincolnweld L-61 wire.
