Lincolnweld 8500
Package size (kg): 220
800 Series Neutral Flux
Lincolnweld 8500 is recommended for multi-pass welding with solid mild steel and low alloy electrodes. 8500 flux can be used to obtain excellent mechanical properties, including low temperature impacts and CTODΖs 8500 flux is recommended for both single and multiple electrode welding. 8500 flux is not recommended as a general purpose or horizontal fillet welding flux for carbon steel.
Advantage Lincoln Over 50 years experience in flux designing and manufacturing.
Agglomerated for consistent flux particle composition and consistent weld deposit chemistry.
Typically, agglomerated fluxes such as 8500 will have up to 30% lower flux consumption than their fused flux counterparts.
Manufactured under quality systems certified to ISO 9001 standards.
Typical Application Multiple pass welding. Single and multiple wire welding. Low temperature Charpy impacts with Lincolnweld L-61, L-S3 and LA-85 wires. Fabrication of offshore drilling platforms. DC or AC submerged arc welding. Not recommended as a general-purpose or horizontal fillet flux for mild steel. Note: Lincolnweld 8500 flux is not sized for semiautomatic applications (Squirt). Contact your local Lincoln Representative for pricing if the application requires special sizing applicable to semiautomatic welding.
